  1. MeToo movement is a movement against sexual harassment. It is an attempt to demonstrate the widespread prevalence of sexual harassment especially in the workplace.

Sadly, this comes at a time when we are witnessing increasing participation of women in workforce.
It is right of every women to have a harassment-free workplace.

Constitution of India guarantees a safer work environment through fundamental rights:
    * Article 14 and 15: Right to equality for women
    * Article 21: Right to live with dignity
    * Article 19: Right to practice any profession which includes a right to a safe environment free from sexual harassment

Along with the fundamental rights, we have Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act of 2013, Vishaka Guidelines and SHE-BOX that seeks to protect women from sexual harassment.

Despite all these protections, the MeToo movement indicates that still lot needs to be done to provide a safer work place for women.
With the constitutional and statutory provisions in place, all that the country needs is proper implementation. proper monitoring of complaints and tweaking of social behavior. The patriarchal mind set of the society has to be changed as women are blamed for inviting the predatory tendencies.
